What are you rates?

Rates are as follows: 600ft of line $79, 800ft of line $89, 1,000ft of line $99. Holiday and weekend rates are an additional $10.

How safe is Island Style Parasail?

Your safety is our #1 priority! We are proud of our perfect (100%) safety record! Parasailing is safe because we make it safe. We have the most sophisticated equipment the industry makes, we don’t fly in winds over 20 mph, we stay at least 1600 feet from the shore in winds over 10 mph, and we do not fly in thunderstorms.

How long does the experience last?

The trip time can vary from 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on the number of flyers. Flight times range from 6 to 12 minutes. If we have a full trip, then we should be out 1.5 hours.

Do I have to make a reservation online?

Reservations are highly recommended and you need a credit card to secure your seat. We’ve made it easy for you to reserve your flight on this website. You can also reserve your seat at our ticket booth located at Bowens Wharf in Newport, RI.

What if I just want to ride along?

If there’s space on the boat you are welcome to ride along with your party. It only costs $35 extra per rider. However, there is a maximum of 6 riders per boat including flyers and non-flyers. Because of the limited space, flyers will be given first priority and riders will be taken if the boat is not filled to capacity.

Do you take photos or videos?

Absolutely! The high-resolution photo package is $35, the HD video package is $45. Or save $10 and purchase both for $70. The is an experience you’ll want to remember.

Is there a weight or height limit?

Yes, there are weight restrictions. It is variable, generally, we can only carry about 150 – 400 pounds – total and combined weight – in the air at one time. However, the wind can also be a variable and weight limits are always at the Captains’ discretion. The more wind, the more weight we need in the parasail. If the wind is high we cannot take lighter flights i.e. (light single flights). If the wind slows down, then we cannot take as heavy of flights i.e. (heavy 3 person flights). There is no height limit for participants.

How far in advance should I make a reservation?

Our season books up quick, especially over holiday weekends. It is strongly recommended you make your reservation sooner rather than later.

What is your refund policy?

We require a 24-hour notice of cancellation for a full refund. You can make this request via phone or email. It can take anywhere from 5-7 business days for your money to be credited back to you from the day we initiate the refund.

What happens if there is bad weather?

Your safety comes first! You’ll get your money back and we’ll do our best to reschedule you for a different time. Because weather can change quickly, we do recommend you make this water sport a priority on your vacation itinerary and book towards the beginning of your vacation.

Are there any physical restrictions?

If you have a HEART CONDITION, BAD BACK or any other physical conditions our Captain has the right to determine if an individual is fit to participate in the parasailing activity. For insurance reasons, pregnant woman are not allowed on the boat. We want everybody to have the best and safest experience possible!

Do I have to get wet?

We operate dry take-offs and landings. Therefore, it’s entirely up to you if you would like to get wet or not. By request, you may get dipped and get your feet wet. Dipping is done at the sole discretion of Captain for safety reasons based on wind and water conditions.

What about special needs?

The beauty of parasailing is that, given the right conditions, it is an activity that most everybody can experience and enjoy. Should you have a disability or know somebody that does give us a call or send us an email. We would love to show you an experience of a lifetime!

Are there any age requirements?

Island Style Parasail is proud to be a family-oriented activity for all ages. We do not have a maximum age limit, but for safety reasons, we do require children to be at least 5 years of age to parasail (depending on the weight and temperament of the child). Children under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver for them before boarding the boat (I.D. Required).

What if I'm scared of heights?

When you fly over water you lose depth perception, so the height does not bother people. People who are afraid of heights tend to like it, many compare it to a hot air balloon ride. Imagine floating in a cloud, it’s a very peaceful and serine ride.
